The 2nd Unboxing
As some of you might have noticed, I managed to score a Bag of Crap on Christmas last December. I was helped by the fact that they employed an “anti-cheat” mechanism. That is, if you just went to the site front page, it said it was sold out, but if you took the time to read the text for the time, it explained that you needed to click through to a special page in order to order the Crap. This is intended to foil any sort of automated buying program/script anyone was running. And it worked! I was actually able to score one, something that I hadn’t done in just about a year.
However, I did experience a problem : it didn’t arrive. Well, the tracking indicated that it did in fact arrive, but when I got home…nothing was there! Was there a thief in my area? Was there an incompetent mailperson? We may never know. Luckily, Woot believed my sob story and was nice enough to send me another Bag of Crap. This in itself was awesome, as I was expecting them to just refund my money. Apparently they have redundant crap in their warehouse that they were willing to send me.

So, Woot had an anniversary recently. Unbelievably, they turned 5 on July 12th. Normally, they issue a Bag of Crap, which results in their server melting down. This year, they went in a bit of a different direction. They sold Woot-Off lights. USB powered ones.

Be Careful What You Wish For
My last post related the unboxing of my first Bag of Random Crap. Before it arrived, I was looking at the post on the Woot Forums for the item, because a lot of people post their winnings when the items are received, and I wanted a heads-up. Well, with the delivery behind me, I went back to the forums to see if anyone had been declared a super mega winner, with awesome pictures showing their take. And what I found was, uh….interesting.

New Year, Mixed Bag of Results
Happy New Year Everyone! I hope everyone is safe and not hungover.
So, my bag of crap finally arrived a day or two ago. I figured that my first post of the New Year should be about it. I’ve been in a state of frantic anticipation since I found out that I had won the Random Crap lottery. But I knew that I needed to calm down, because these mystery prizes are typically shipped from the Carrollton, Texas warehouse via turtle caravan, which is known more commonly by it’s tradename, SmartPost. So, it wasn’t until the 19th that it was shipped, and it wasn’t until the 30th that it arrived, and it wasn’t until the 31st that I actually picked it up from the post office. Here it is, the grand unboxing :
