Origami, Week 49

Week 49, December 1st – December 5th

8 Pointed Star

Get ready for a deluge of stars. December is, apparently, a great month for stars. Speaking of stars, I like the winter because that’s when Orion is out, and it’s the only constellation I can recognize. It’s pretty pathetic.

Candy Cane

This one would have worked better if I had less writing on one side, and more red on the other side. And sugar.

Coin Purse

Honestly, this bears no resemblance to any coin purse I’ve ever seen, unless that area in the middle is supposed to represent the opening up a purse, drawn tight by drawstrings or something. But, let’s be honest here: I’m suffering from a form of senioritis. It’s the last semester, and I can see the finish line.

Noshi

According to wikipedia, a noshi is a ceremonial fold attached to gifts to express good wishes. I think it kinda looks like a coffin.

As always, these origami designs were found in the Origami Page-A-Day Desk Calendar.

    Hi Ranjeet,

Thank you for folding my 2 fold Santa! It is really abstract and because of that, you can have more than one interpretation.
The way I see this Santa is different than yours. What you marked as the belly of the Santa is for me his sack. He is looking to the right in your picture, the white bit on top is his head and the small red bit his hat.

    Happy folding,
Paula (creator of the 2 fold Santa)
