Adventures in Cat-Sitting, Day 10
Overall, things are going well. The cat isn’t scared by me anymore, unless I’m taking off or putting on my coat. Or I move too quickly. Or I make a loud noise, such as sneezing or clapping my hands. She’s pretty good about amusing herself with a Ping Pong ball, and I think she would make a decent midfielder in the WUSA.
However, the main issue I am dealing with is meowing.
This cat meows like a champion. Some breeds of cats, notably Siamese, are more vocal than other cats. Maki is not any particular breed. But meows a lot. Like constantly. So, being the internet nerd that I am, I google up “How to Stop My Cat From Meowing”. The consensus appears to be that assuming that your cat isn’t hurt or looking for some action, ignore it, and only reward the cat when it’s quiet. After a while, it will figure stuff out on it’s own. We’ll see how this works. I’m not sure I can take it much longer.
